Literary Charades Game Night

Fundraiser hosted by the East Village Association is a fun game night to benefit CPL's West Town Branch.

On September 25th, the East Village Association will host a game night to benefit the West Town branch of the Chicago Public Library.Literary Charades Game Night will kick off at Roots Homemade Pizza, at 1924 W. Chicago Avenue at 6 p.m.

A fitting tribute to books and reading, teams of four will “act out” book titles without speaking, while other members of their team try to guess the title. The objective is for teams to guess the titles as quickly as possible.

The evening will culminate with the final four teams, having the fastest completion times, competing for the crown of 2014 West Town Champions. The final four teams will receive various prizes from local businesses and sponsors. More importantly, they’ll hold the bragging rights as the West Town Champions – at least until next year.

To participate in Literary Charades Game Night teams of four can register for $75. Spectator tickets are just $20, and food and non-alcoholic drinks are included. A cash bar will also be available. Visit eastvillagechicago.org to register a team or buy tickets.

The East Village Association (EVA) is a nonprofit volunteer community organization, established in 1982, representing the East Village community area in West Town. EVA was responsible for preventing the demolition of the Goldblatt's building in 1997. It stands today as the home to the West Town branch of the Chicago Public Library and a neighborhood landmark, recognized by the Commission on Chicago Landmarks. Since the building’s restoration and opening in September 2010, EVA has been active in its support of the West Town branch.
